Quick Release pins - Single Action Locking Pin
This term refers to the method by which
the balls are released to allow the pin to be inserted or retracted.
In the case of a single action quick release pin, there is a push button, which when depressed,
allows the balls
to retract into the body and the pin moved. The locking device releases the
locking mechanism only by an axial push applied to the actuating button.
The
locking mechanism consists of 2 balls (4 balls non standard -
see link).
Single action
pins are manufactured in a two materials, steel with a cadmium plate or
stainless steel (17-4PH). Handles are normally cast aluminium, but stainless steel is
available on some styles.
